Major Updates to AEW’s Console, AEW Fight Forever

All Elite Wrestling is expanding into the world of video games. The much-anticipated AEW console video game is finally on its way after it was first announced in November 2020. The development process was strewn with obstacles, but the light at the end of the tunnel is finally visible. titled AEW Fight ForeverThis is the first non-WWE wrestling video game in over a decade. Details have remained scant until this point, but the published THQ Nordic product is starting to peel off some layers.

Speaking at Gamescom in Germany, AEW stars Evil Ono and Colt Cabana shared a number of anecdotes about AEW Fight Forever. Things started with some gameplay mechanics, a singles match between Kenny Omega and Adam Cole has been set up, which takes place inside AEW Dynamite Arena.

This preview match was held in the game’s demo, which is available to Gamescom attendees but will not be released to the public. This is because THQ says they don’t want to release any aspect of it to the public until it is completely polished. For this reason, the game still has no release date, but the committee told fans that it will be coming “soon” and “stay tuned.”

As for the gameplay itself, it was noted AEW Fight Forever It will prioritize game flow. This means that the comment will be present but not arrogant, because they want to avoid repetitive dialogue from broadcasters.

The possibility of holding mixed matches was also confirmed. This was shown in AEW Fight Forever Show trailer, in which Dr. Brett Baker DMD appeared with Adam Cole. Cabana joked that he actually played a match between Paul White and Hikaru Shida several times. Players can also set up CPU vs CPU matches, and the battle royale casino game will be a playable match type. Weapons will be unlimited, but only one weapon can be used at a time. Most of the UFOs will be found under the ring, but it has been teased that they will be available elsewhere.

It was also revealed that William Regal is a coach in the game, but is not a playable character. The coach’s words are noteworthy, because the directors were also mentioned. It’s unclear if coaches and managers are separate entities, but given the career situation, there’s a good chance that both will be available. Speaking of this career mode, it has been noted that it takes players “on the road” with AEW.

Personalization is also set to be a major aspect. Players will be able to customize the arenas and modify the outfits of the wrestlers. Players won’t be able to import their own music for entries, but Max Caster from The Acclaimed will have original tracks available in it. They may have to customize tournaments as well, because there has been no comment on the involvement of Ring of Honor titles in the game. Another uncertain aspect is the pay-per-view, as none of it is specifically mentioned as being in it.

AEW Fight Forever Currently without a release date.
